A minibus typically seats 12 to 18 passengers in a compact body that fits through hotel driveways and mall parking. A coaster bus seats up to 30 passengers in a mid-size body with more headroom and aisle space. The choice depends on your group size, luggage needs, route type, and budget.
When a minibus wins
Choose a minibus when your group is 12–18 people, luggage is limited to carry-ons, and your route includes tight spaces like hotel forecourts, old Dubai lanes, or residential compound gates. Mercedes Sprinter-class vehicles also offer a premium feel for executive groups. Daily rates for minibuses start lower than coasters.
When a coaster bus is better value
For groups of 20–30, a coaster bus costs only marginally more than a large minibus but provides significantly more space. Coasters handle highway routes to Abu Dhabi, Fujairah, and RAK comfortably. They also carry more luggage in the underfloor compartment. If your group has 18+ people, the coaster almost always offers better value per seat.
