Desert road conditions and timing
Most desert camps are accessed via paved roads from the E44 or Al Ain Road. The bus drops off at the camp entrance; 4x4 dune driving is a separate activity run by camp operators. We time departure for late afternoon so guests arrive before sunset for photos, and schedule return after the entertainment programme ends — usually around 9:30 to 10:00 PM.
